Metroid Samus

The galaxy's most fearless bounty hunter. Imagined this could be a start screen (or end credits screen) for a modern-day pixel art Metroid game. 320x320, 64 colors. Enjoy, and if you're a fan of the series check out Sam Dillard's Metroid Cinematica album - awesome orchestral cover of the game soundtrack.
Edit: Wow all, thank you so much for all the comments. Excited for first staff pick!!
So some people are asking if this is original, yes it is, but there is a mix of techniques here. I first sculpted this in zbrush, then used that as a base, drawing over it with a pixel brush to get all the texture and detail in. It took about 7 hours to model, then the pixel work another 7 hours. So I traced over... my own work I guess? The base was rough, not textured or colored, but gave me a solid foundation for perspective and volumes. So it's definitely a hybrid in terms of technique. This is pretty common in concept art, but some might feel differently with pixel art. For those who feel using any 3d tools isn't fair game, that's cool, I can mention it in the description in the future if I do!
Anyway, hope you continue to enjoy! I hope to finish the high-res, fully detailed version at some later date, but that'll take more time. This would be cool as a 4K wallpaper...
