Obsidian Drift
You arrive on a familiar planet, the weight of memories pressing down as soon as you land. This place holds deep meaning, and returning only deepens the ache. The quiet forest is just as you remember, fireflies drifting lazily through the soft night air, their glow guiding you forward. You find your way to a familiar mountain, settling in your usual spot, gazing out over the calm, reflective waters below. The two moons hang low, silhouetted against the glowing nebula beyond the mountains.
This was once a place of comfort, where you and a dear friend would lose yourselves in conversation, dreaming of adventures and sharing the deepest parts of your hearts. But tonight, the silence is heavy. The memories are sharp, bittersweet and weighed down by the guilt you’ve carried since failing to save him on your quest for the Supreme Warrior’s resting place. His final words echo in your mind: "Life was never meant to be easy, so don't try and make it that way. Life will hit you hard but don't let it keep you down. If the cosmos makes you fall down seven times, stand for the eighth. Thrive in spite of all the difficulties you face. Tough times never last but tough people do. I have nothing to lose. Keep looking for the Warriors resting place for me."
Tears begin to blur your vision as the grief you’ve held inside for so long break free. The sorrow of losing someone who meant so much, of carrying the weight of a journey unfulfilled. Hours pass in this silent release until you finally begin to feel a sense of peace, of closure. You wipe away the tears that once clouded your view of life’s difficult reality and take a final look around. This place, once filled with so many cherished memories, now stands as a monument to the past, yet will continue to hold a special place in your heart forever.
It’s time to move on.
